Greystoke’s Got Talent
Last Friday the children came to school dressed in yellow or spots and donated a variety of wonderful cakes to sell during break-time in order to raise money for Children in Need. We are delighted to share that we concluded the day with a fundraising total of £215- isn't that amazing!
Today we welcomed a representative from PovertySwap (a charity which supports impoverished people in Ethiopia as well as Nepal). The charity renovated a derelict building in Ethiopia in 2013, turning it into a school very similar size to ours. It later added a nursery block and in 2019 it opened a primary school with £15,000-worth of support from West Cumbrian people.
Some of the challenges young people face there were explained : these included; a fee to attend school that only some can afford, lack of school equipment and the added complication of different languages being spoken.
November 2018
This year we took part in the Children in Need Countryfile Pudsey Ramble. The children walked around the village finding places of interest. We raised a fantastic £390.00
